Overview

The Delaware Valley Regional Economic Development Fund makes grants to projects that deliver measurable economic development and job impact in southeastern Pennsylvania. Projects and organizations whose missions promote job impact in community development, workforce development or tourism are eligible for funding, and additional consideration goes to projects that clearly benefit distressed communities in the five-county Philadelphia region or provide economic opportunity to low-income individuals living in the region.

Awardees must be registered or incorporated in Pennsylvania and doing business in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery or Philadelphia county — the five-county area of southeastern Pennsylvania. Grants are made to not-for-profit organizations incorporated as public charities in the Commonwealth. General operating support is also considered. Alongside grants, DVREDF offers project financing of up to $500,000 on flexible terms, which is a separate loan application.

The Fund is based at 1500 Market Street in Philadelphia.

How to Apply

Grant requests are made through the grant inquiry form on the DVREDF site, which is open on a rolling basis. The form asks for an executive summary of the request, bios of the key management staff and the people leading the project, other commitments to the project or organization and any other pending grant applications, your EIN, and a description of the project, its relevance to your mission and its alignment with DVREDF's goals of measurable economic development and job impact. You will also be asked who and which communities benefit, how the impact will be measured, the activities and timeline, the full project cost and the amount requested.

Attach a list of current Board of Directors and Officers with their affiliations; data related to the project such as a business plan, market analysis or feasibility study; a project budget with income and expenses (for general support requests, the current organizational budget); and three years of audited financial statements — or the three most recent IRS 990s if you are not required to produce audited statements — plus the current year profit and loss and a projected organizational budget during the project and for the full year after it completes.
