Texas Society of Health-System Pharmacy The Texas Society of Health-System Pharmacy (TSHP) is a dynamic professional membership association which serves Texas health-system pharmacy professionals dedicated to the mission, vision, core values, philosophy, soul, spirit, and motto of TSHP. Mission: Texas Society of Health-System Pharmacy is a strong and vibrant membership-driven society of pharmacists, technicians, students, and professional colleagues who advocate for optimized patient care, professional practice, and public health. Vision: Leading the pharmacy profession by advancing patient care. TSHP Research and Education Foundation The TSHP R&E Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving health outcomes for Texans by funding numerous activities that advance healthcare through pharmacy research and education. The TSHP Research and Education (R&E) Foundation has been advancing health-system pharmacy practice though education, research, and professional development since 1977. Today, the Foundation’s managed assets and cash total around $918,000. TSHP R&E Foundation Scholarships The TSHP Research & Education (R&E) Foundation has been supporting our pharmacy community in Texas since 1977, reminding us of our shared strength in helping one another. Scholarships of $500 to $1,500 are awarded to undergraduate and graduate students. Scholarships from the Foundation are awarded on the basis of financial need, academic ability and career interest. Dr. Michael Piñón/Texas Southern University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences/EPASHP Scholarship One of the four El Paso Scholarships is designated for a pharmacy student attending Texas Southern University’s College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Dr. Piñón’s alma mater. It was established by the El Paso Society to honor the contributions of Dr. Michael Piñón in 2006. He is an Associate Director for Medical Affairs at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals and served as President of EPASHP from 2001-6. He also served on the TSHP R&E Board of Directors from 2008-17 and was honored as Distinguished Alumnus of the Texas Southern University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in 2006. Preference is given to a pharmacy student native of the greater El Paso area attending Texas Southern, if no applicants meet this criteria; preference will be given to students native to El Paso (preferably) or West Texas area attending any accredited college of pharmacy; or other student the scholarship committee feels meets the requirements.

GPA may be considered in the selection process, andBe a native from the El Paso area or West Texas as well as New Mexico to the West and Oklahoma to the North.
