Overview: This 4-year college scholarship is awarded annually to one UHS student applicant who best exemplifies the criteria set out by founder and former Principal Dr. Henry J. Pilote, Jr. and his wife, Angelina E. Pilote.
Objective: The scholarship recognizes all-around excellence and achievement by University High School graduates. The character and integrity of the student are among the most important criteria sought after by the Pilote Scholarship.
Award Amount: For school year 2025-26, the scholarship provides a one-time payment of $10,000.
Award Frequency: Annually to one UHS student
Geographic Scope: University High School (Arizona)
Background: Dr. Henry Pilote was the second director at Special Projects from 1980 to 1985. Pilote and his wife Angelina left a legacy gift in their will which is now stewarded by the UHSFAA.
