The Foundation for Enhancing Communities The Foundation for Enhancing Communities (TFEC) is a community foundation serving South Central Pennsylvania with a mission to inspire giving, partner with donors to achieve their charitable goals, and strengthen local communities for current and future generations. Guided by core values of inclusion, stewardship, endurance, and integrity, TFEC invests in a broad range of community needs through grantmaking, donor-advised funds, nonprofit services, and regional initiatives. Its funding priorities include early childhood education, women and girls’ well-being, arts and culture, community development, health and human services, and other programs that advance equity and long-term community impact. Dr. George H. and Mrs. Hettie S. Love “Love of Learning” Scholarship Fund The Dr. George H. and Mrs. Hettie S. Love “Love of Learning” Scholarship is established by the Bishop Nathan Baxter Chapter of the Union of Black Episcopalians for Students of Color with a primary focus on the Black community, entering a 2-year or 4-year college majoring in Education. Preference is given to a student attending an Historically Black College and University (HBCU), especially Cheyney University of PA, Lincoln University in PA, or St. Augustine’s University, Raleigh, NC. An eligible student would have financial need and will exhibit promise for entering into the education field. The scholarship is designed to support Black students and students of color entering into the education profession.

Graduating high school senior planning to attend a four year or two year college or university as a full-time student to major in education. (K-12)  Student must be a resident of the geographic area is the Episcopal Diocese of Central Pennsylvania which is these 26 counties: Blair, Bedford, Huntingdon, Mifflin, Cumberland, Dauphin, Perry, Franklin, Lancaster, Potter, Tioga, Adams, Franklin, York, Columbia, Montour, Northumberland, Snyder, Union, Clinton, Lycoming, Sullivan, Clearfield, Lehigh, Northampton and Centre Student must be a person of color, the primary focus will be on the Black Community Extra consideration will be given to students attending HBCUs, especially Cheyney University of Pennsylvania, Cheyney, PA; Lincoln University of PA, Lincoln University, PA; and St. Augustine’s University, Raleigh, NC;  Demonstrated volunteerism or community service Financial need
