Geographic Scope: Oregon (SEIU Local 503 jurisdiction)
Eligibility:
- Must be an SEIU 503 member
- Must have faced financial hardship due to:
- Property damage from wildfire, OR
- Evacuation due to wildfire
- Wildfire must be listed on the Oregon Emergency Management (OEM) website as on-going/active
- Member's zip code must be under a level 2 or 3 evacuation order
Application Deadline: Must submit application within 30 days of the qualifying evacuation level
Fund Distribution: Distributed by check
Background: Created during COVID-19 crisis and now a permanent union program. During the 2020 Labor Day wildfires, the fund distributed $137,000 to SEIU 503 members financially impacted by evacuations and property damage.
