Overview: Emergency financial assistance program for SEIU 503 members experiencing hardship from qualifying wildfire events.

Geographic Scope: Oregon (SEIU Local 503 jurisdiction)

Eligibility:

Must be an SEIU 503 member

Must have faced financial hardship due to:

- Property damage from wildfire, OR
- Evacuation due to wildfire

Wildfire must be listed on the Oregon Emergency Management (OEM) website as on-going/active

Member's zip code must be under a level 2 or 3 evacuation order

Award Amount: Up to $250 in cash assistance

Application Deadline: Must submit application within 30 days of the qualifying evacuation level

Fund Distribution: Distributed by check

Background: Created during COVID-19 crisis and now a permanent union program. During the 2020 Labor Day wildfires, the fund distributed $137,000 to SEIU 503 members financially impacted by evacuations and property damage.
