Program Description

A major annual grant program that awards funding to nonprofit agencies serving the metro Denver area. The program features both standard grants and signature grants.

Funding Mechanism

• Public donation campaign with matching funds from the McCormick Foundation
• Every dollar donated is matched at 50% by the McCormick Foundation
• Example: 2016 campaign raised $1,525,000 from 4,900+ donors, matched to total $2,290,000 across 49 nonprofits

Signature Grants

• Amount: $100,000 per grant
• Awards: Four signature grants (one per issue area)
• Focus on "bold systems support solutions with strategies to change the future"
• Recent recipients (2016): Denver Metro Chamber Foundation – Denver Opportunity Youth Initiative; Colorado Nonprofit Development Center – Mile High Health Alliance Initiative; Metropolitan Denver Homeless Initiative; Hunger Free Colorado
