Overview

Delany Scholarship

Purpose: Recognize the high priority St. Peter's Episcopal Church places on education by helping fund higher education pursuits for high school graduates.

Award Amount: Up to $1,000 for one year

Geographic Scope: Fernandina Beach, FL area

Eligibility:

  • High school graduate

  • Formal acceptance to an accredited college, university, or graduate institution

  • Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA

  • Current member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Fernandina Beach, FL
  • Selection Process:

  • Selection committee consists of a vestry member, youth director, and congregation members

  • Award notification by June 1st

    Required Materials:
    1. Proof of acceptance to an accredited college, university, or graduate institution
    2. Official transcript of current grades
    3. List of extracurricular activities
    4. Proof of membership at St. Peter's Episcopal Church
    5. Financial need documentation (if appropriate)
    6. Essay (less than 500 words) on ONE of the following topics:
    - What being a member of St. Peter's means to me
    - Why post-secondary study is important to me as a Christian

    Submission: Submit completed packet to the church office
