DCCMS Ambassador Scholarship
Funder: Dixon Chamber of Commerce & Main Street (DCCMS)
Geographic Scope: Dixon, Illinois
Purpose: Educational scholarship for graduating high school seniors pursuing higher education or career training.
- Residency: Must be a resident of Dixon, IL
- School: Attending Dixon High School, Newman High School, Faith Christian, or homeschooled
- Grade Level: Graduating seniors
- Enrollment Status: Must be registered as a full-time student
- Program Type: Pursuing a career certificate or 2 or 4-year Associates/Bachelor Degree Program at an accredited college, university, or trades program
- Enrollment Timeline: Must attend program starting Fall 2026
- Ineligibility: Sauk Scholars are not eligible
Eligibility
- Restrictions: Scholarship funds must be applied to tuition, room/board fees, or textbooks/media for classes
- Payment Structure: Paid in two installments during recipient's freshman year
- Renewability: Scholarships are non-renewable
- Consequences: Failure to complete course requirements may result in forfeiture of unpaid scholarship funds

How to Apply
Application Process
#### Required Materials
1. Completed Application Form - All sections must be completed
2. Essay or Video Submission - Answer one of the following prompts with either a typed essay or 3- to 10-minute video:
- Option A: What Does Dixon Mean to You? - Share your personal story about growing up in Dixon, what makes Dixon special to you, what could make it better, and what you would do to improve it
- Option B: Tell us About Your Favorite Local Businesses - Describe your favorite local business, what you enjoy about it, their history, and how they help the community
3. Two Original Letters of Recommendation:
- One from high school faculty or counselor
- One from a personal source
- Note: Homeschooled applicants may submit two personal source recommendations (one must be related to an activity listed in Section 4)
4. Official High School Transcript - Required for consideration
