Mr. & Mrs. Lutkenhouse founded the Hawai'i Tropical Botanical Garden as a nature preserve and sanctuary, a living seed bank, and a study center for trees and plants of the tropical world. They created this fund to benefit the youth in the community in which they live.

Eligibility

Demonstrate financial need
Be in good academic standing by maintaining a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0Donor Criteria:

• Resident of the Hilo Coast and the Hamakua Coast, north of the Wailuku River
• Taking college courses in agriculture, science, medicine, nursing, other skilled lab, X-ray, or trade schools requiring special education and training.
