Curvey Scholar Program
Status: Active since 2009
Geographic Scope: Lakes Region of New Hampshire, including Alton, Wolfeboro, and surrounding communities
Overview:
The Curvey Scholar Program was launched at Brewster Academy in 2009 to provide deserving students from the Lakes Region with educational opportunities they otherwise would be unable to afford. The program has expanded to include the Curvey Fellowship and Scholarship to Villanova.
- All freshman applicants who reside in the Lakes Region are eligible for consideration
- Selection is based on: - Family's demonstrated financial need - Academic, athletic, and co-curricular accomplishments - Personal qualities of integrity, work ethic, and good character
Eligibility
- Four-year scholarship opportunity
- Ambassadors to Brewster Academy
- Leaders to their peers in the community
- Represent the Academy with dignity and honor
- Meet with members of the Curvey family throughout the academic year
- Returning scholars serve as mentors to new scholars
- Scholars have attended selective universities such as Brown, Colgate, George Washington, Lehigh, and Villanova
What It Means to Be a Curvey Scholar
- Four-year scholarship based on demonstrated financial need
- Awards reviewed annually
- Families must complete financial aid application process each year
- Awards can adjust accordingly based on need

- 45+ students have been awarded the Curvey Scholarship at Brewster
- First group of 3 Curvey Scholars graduated from Brewster

How to Apply
Application Process
Curvey Scholars are selected as part of the regular Brewster Academy admissions process. Freshman applicants from the Lakes Region are automatically considered for this opportunity.
Steps:
1. Complete Brewster Academy's standard admission application (see How to Apply page for full details)
2. Demonstrate demonstrated financial need through financial aid application
3. Submit academic records, teacher recommendations, and transcripts
4. Selection is based on academic, athletic, co-curricular accomplishments and personal qualities
