Funding Calculation Methods

Applicants choose one of three calculation methods based on how they track attendance:

Method 1 - Attendance Numbers:

  • Total Event Attendees × 0.09 = Total Hotel Room Nights

  • Total Hotel Room Nights × $168 (Average Room Rate) = Total Revenue

  • Total Revenue ÷ 10 = Final Eligible DTPID Amount

  • Example: 1,000 attendees × 0.09 = 90 room nights; 90 × $168 = $15,120; $15,120 ÷ 10 = $1,512.00
  • Method 2 - Hotel Booking Code:

  • Total Hotel Room Nights × $168 (Average Room Rate) = Total Revenue

  • Total Revenue ÷ 10 = Final Eligible DTPID Amount

  • Example: 1,000 room nights × $168 = $168,000; $168,000 ÷ 10 = $16,800.00
  • Method 3 - Ticket Sales/Registration:

  • Total Ticket Sales Sold Outside DFW Area × 0.6 = Total Hotel Room Nights

  • Total Hotel Room Nights × $168 (Average Room Rate) = Total Revenue

  • Total Revenue ÷ 10 = Final Eligible DTPID Amount

  • Example: 1,000 tickets × 0.6 = 600 room nights; 600 × $168 = $100,800; $100,800 ÷ 10 = $10,080.00
