Overview

The Cultural Arts Event Marketing Fund lets local Dallas groups and organisations apply for funding to enhance the marketing of a cultural arts event, so that it attracts or retains groups, visitors and hotel activity in Dallas. A qualifying event can be a single event, a season, or an annual calendar of events.

The Dallas Tourism Public Improvement District dedicates 7.5% of its budget to this purpose and, as with all its expenditure, requires a 10-to-1 return on investment. Subject to board approval, funds are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Events must benefit District participant hotels, generate a minimum of 30 hotel room nights, and be open to the public. Applicants must demonstrate marketing and promotion to communities outside a 50-mile radius of Dallas, with the intent of increasing Dallas's visibility as an overnight destination. An event cannot be primarily a fundraiser or gala, though a fundraising component is permissible. Non-profit entities are eligible for up to 50% of approved funding up front. Events receiving other District funds are ineligible, and expos and conventions are excluded.

How to Apply

Submit the Pre-Event Marketing Fund Application at dallastpid.com at least 90 days before the event, following every direction on the Cultural Arts Event Funding Application — altered forms may be rejected. Await notification of approval, submit a final report within 30 days after the event, and receive reimbursement for approved expenses. The District's office is at 1807 Ross Avenue, Suite 450, Dallas, Texas 75201.
