COVID-19 Economic Relief Initiative Grant

Funder: United Way of Franklin County (IN, US) in partnership with Lilly Endowment, Inc. and Indiana United Ways

Purpose: Boost the efforts of selected area human and social service nonprofits on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic to meet critical and basic needs in the community.

Geographic Scope: Franklin and Ripley Counties, Indiana

Focus Areas:

  • COVID-19 relief efforts

  • Safe, emergency childcare

  • Other COVID-19 critical issues as they emerge

  • Services to struggling working households, frontline responders, and recently displaced employees

    • Eligibility:

  • Human and social service nonprofits in good standing in Franklin and Ripley Counties

  • Organizations engaged in immediate COVID relief efforts

  • Organizations that demonstrate the ability to rapidly pivot to relief efforts

  • Must prioritize services to struggling working households, frontline responders, and recently displaced employees

  • Phase 2 of the COVID-19 Economic Relief Initiative Grant

  • Made possible through partnership between Lilly Endowment, Inc. and Indiana United Ways

  • United Way of Franklin County has served as a key convener and coordinator of the community's response to meet human needs for 30+ years

  • Prior to COVID-19, 1 in 3 families in Franklin and Ripley Counties were unable to make ends meet despite working
