The foundation’s grants are administered through a Distribution Committee that pre-selects applicants to apply by directed invitation. Funding is regionally focused, serving the City of Philadelphia and selected surrounding counties in Pennsylvania, as well as some areas in Ohio, New Jersey, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, West Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, DC.

Eligibility

The grant awarding committee supports projects & programs that:Support year-round programmingProvide direct services to individuals and reflect the core social mission of the organizationAddress a need in the community for which there is a demonstrated demandHave broad impact or benefit underserved populations
Have measurable outcomes, a plan for documenting results, and long-term sustainability
Have diversified income streams and demonstrate effective financial accountability
Involve collaboration with other organizations
Complement rather than duplicate the work of other non-profit organizations
Are submitted from organizations that have 3 years of operation in full service to others. Also, the program or project for which you are applying needs to have at least one (1) complete year with a report showing the measurable impact available prior to applying

Ineligibility

Generally, the Trust does not support:

• General Operating Costs
• Pilot or new programming
• Event, conference or seminar sponsorships or entry fees
• Multi-year commitments
• For-profit organizations
• Individuals or private foundations
• Fraternal, political, advocacy or labor organizations
• Capital expenses or capital campaigns
