Cornelia T. Bailey Foundation - General Grant

The Cornelia T. Bailey Foundation offers general grants aimed at promoting arts, education, and environmental initiatives. Eligible organizations must be IRS-registered 501(c)(3) entities serving specific regions, with a focus on environmental, medical, and veterans initiatives. The foundation prioritizes projects that align with its mission and provides opportunities for quality arts programming.

General Grants
Our Letter of Inquiry form is the first step in the general grant process. The letter of inquiry should be used for projects that fall outside our three programs' scope.

• Environmental Ingenuity
• We are working with organizations to reduce human environmental impact and increase fresh and saltwater quality.
• Medical Research
• Focusing on funding initiatives involving high-mortality, under-funded diseases, specifically, but not exclusively, pancreatic and colon cancer.
• Visual and Performing Arts

We fund projects that provide students and children in the regions we serve with opportunities to experience quality arts programming, both visual and performing.
Veterans Initiatives
We work with several veterans organizations to provide respite locations, therapeutic programming, and service animals for our wounded, recovering, and returning servicemen, women, and members.

Eligibility

Your organization must be an IRS-registered, tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) organization with a non-private foundation status of 509(a)(1) or 509(a)(2)The goal or intent of the purpose of the inquiry must align with our Foundation's missionYour organization must serve residents located in the geographic regions that we are currently active in. Namely, Florida, New York, Connecticut or DCYour request must be for general operating or program support rather than special events (e.g., dinner tables, galas), endowments or an individual.

Ineligibility

Organizations who have submitted a letter of inquiry in the past 12 months or who have been denied in the past 24 months are not eligible to submit another letter of inquiry.Our Foundation's grant period is 12 months from the date of your last grant award letter. A Grant Report is due within that time period and before any subsequent LOI, Grant Application, or Grant Award will be considered. Our Foundation does not grant to individuals, political organizations, lobbying groups, fraternal, foreign, or civic organizations, or other private trusts/foundations.
