Continuing Education Scholarship

Funder: Farmers Electric Charitable Foundation (part of Farmers Electric Cooperative)

Geographic Scope: Service area includes parts of eastern Dallas, Collin, Rockwall, Hunt, Kaufman, Rains, Hopkins, Delta, Franklin, Fannin, Van Zandt, and Wood counties in Texas

Program Overview:
Farmers Electric Cooperative offers 10 scholarships of $1,000 each to active members or member spouses who are pursuing additional education. This scholarship supports various educational pathways including:

  • Bachelor's, master's, or doctorate degrees in any field

  • Graduate degree programs

  • Certification as an administrator in education, nursing, or other fields

  • Training and certification in trades such as:

  • - Electric lineman's school
    - Welding
    - Electrical work
    - Automotive
    - Other trades at accredited institutions

    Eligible Uses:
    Scholarship funds are sent directly to the institution for payment of:

  • Tuition and required enrollment fees

  • Books

  • Equipment required for course work
    • Eligibility Requirements

    • Active Farmers EC member or member spouse who resides on the system
    • Accepted into college, trade school, or other post-secondary program
    • Registered for a minimum of 9 hours
    • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA

      Required Materials

    • Letter of application detailing educational and career goals
    • Official transcript for GPA accuracy
    • Proof of acceptance and enrollment status

    Application Process

    1. Complete online application form with the following information:

    2. Submit required documents:
