Eligibility Requirements

Organizations must:

  • Be a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization or equivalent

  • Serve the Tempe, Arizona community primarily

  • Not discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, national origin, marital status, age, disability, or veteran status
  • Ineligible For Funding

    Tempe Diablos Charities does NOT fund:

  • Individuals

  • Political, labor, or fraternal organizations

  • Medical or scientific research funding

  • Advocacy or lobbying activities or issue-related topics

  • Religious organizations, churches, or programs that are purely denominational in purpose

  • Debt reduction campaigns

  • General operating needs or ongoing support, including but not limited to salaries or transportation (except for some educational needs)

  • Projects/programs outside Tempe unless the project/program serves primarily Tempe or Tempe residents
  • Fiscal Year

    Tempe Diablos Charities fiscal year runs June 1st through May 31st.

    Important Notes

    • Organizations may apply only once per fiscal year
    • Tempe Diablos Charities reserves the right to accept or reject any application and to approve or disapprove any proposal for funding
    • Tempe Diablos Charities reserves the right to change the application criteria at any time
    • Other guidelines/considerations may apply and will be evaluated on an individual basis

    How to Apply

    Application Process

    Submission Period: October 1, 2025 - December 31, 2025

    Cycle Deadline: Wednesday, December 31, 2025

    Review Timeline:

  • Applications reviewed in February 2026

  • Decisions made by June 30, 2026

  • Applicants notified by July 31, 2026

  • Funds available after August 1, 2026
  • Possible Interview: At the discretion of Tempe Diablos Charities, you may be contacted to schedule an in-person interview in March or April of 2026 to clarify your request or seek additional information.

    #### Required Materials

    Applicants must submit:
    1. Completed application form - Answer all questions and confine typewritten information to the word/page count listed. Noncompliance with word/page count limitations could cause application rejection.
    2. Complete list of corporations and foundations that have given to the organization in the most immediate previous year and the amount each has given ($5,000.00 and above)
    3. Annual operating budget
    4. List of Board of Directors including the primary business or professional affiliation of each

    • Failure to complete all sections and attach required documents could cause application rejection
    • Once the form is complete, you will be emailed a copy of your responses
    • Submit completed application along with all required supporting documentation online
