Funder: Celebration Foundation Inc

Geographic Scope: Celebration and surrounding Osceola County, Florida. Although the location of the grant requestor can be outside the area, the use of funding must be in Osceola County.

Mission & Focus Areas:
Founded in 1996, the Celebration Foundation's mission is building better community through the arts, culture, and education. The Foundation is committed to three areas of focus:

  • The Arts

  • Culture

  • Education
  • Program Purpose: The Celebration Foundation awards grants to organizations serving Celebration and surrounding Osceola County. Each year, a limited number of charitable grants are awarded to projects and organizations that conduct programs and carry out activities that impact the community of Celebration and/or Osceola County.

    Funding Range: Grants range from $200 to $5,000 maximum. Due to limited funds, not all requests can be funded.

      Evaluation Criteria

      The Foundation evaluates proposals based on:
    • Need: Does the project address an important community need? Does it relate directly to grant priorities? Are there opportunities for collaborative efforts?
    • Feasibility: Can the project be accomplished as outlined in the timeframe proposed?
    • Impact: Will the effort result in described solutions? Are positive changes likely to be sustained beyond the project life?
    • Capacity: Is the applicant organization appropriate to address this issue? Do they have qualified staff and governance to accomplish the work?
    • Resources: Is the budget realistic? Are other funding sources being approached? Can the project be supported in the future?

      Eligibility Requirements

    • Must be a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization or other causes aligned with the Foundation's grant purposes
    • Project must address needs in Celebration and/or greater Osceola County
    • Applicants must agree to provide the Foundation, in writing, at least one report for general publication detailing the success and benefit of the grant funding
    • A specific program may submit only one application within any given 12-month period
    • Organizations may receive more than one grant in a granting period at the Board of Trustees' discretion

      Grants Will NOT Fund

    • Routine operating expenses
    • Religious programs or activities (churches and religious organizations may apply only for activities that benefit the larger community, not sectarian purposes)
    • Endowment campaigns
    • Private foundations
    • Costs related to fund-raising campaigns
    • Traditional government services or replacement funding for public support programs that have been cut
    • Politically motivated activities
    • General fundraising venues or another organization's fundraising program

    Media Content Criteria

    Only if the content and use of media is primarily dedicated to the advancement of the Foundation's specific grant purposes.

    How to Apply

    Application Process

    Deadlines (3 Cycles per Fiscal Year - July 1 to June 30):

  • 1st Cycle: September 15

  • 2nd Cycle: January 15

  • 3rd Cycle: April 15
  • Submission Requirements:
    1. Three copies (original plus two) must be received at the Foundation office by 4:00 p.m. on the deadline date - without exception
    2. Online applications by 4:00 p.m. on deadline date are valid with digital signatures of all parties
    3. For online submissions, provide a printed copy of the application with original signatures below the digital signatures, along with printed names and specific titles
    4. Applications may be submitted via:
    - Email
    - Mail
    - In-person drop-off at 610 Sycamore Street, Suite 110, Celebration, FL

    Required Application Materials (in order)

    Narrative Section:
    1. Purpose of Grant (no longer than 3 pages) including:
    - History and current purpose of organization
    - Project goals, population served, and projected timeline
    - How project outcomes will be measured
    - Plan to complete/or sustain project funding
    - Project budget

    Required Attachments:
    1. Current board of directors with affiliations
    2. IRS 501(c)(3) Determination Letter
    3. Current year budget
    4. Prior years' budget compared to actual financial results
    5. Completed grant application form (must be signed by both the Executive Director and President of the organization's board of directors)

      Submission Format

    • Submit original by bringing in person to the office, or by mailing, along with two copies
    • All required information and attachments must be included in order
    • IMPORTANT: Applications considered incomplete will not be reviewed

    Review Process

    1. Proposals are reviewed by the Foundation's Board of Trustees Grant Committee 2. After receipt of an application, interviews or a site visit may be requested by the Foundation 3. All applicants will be notified of the Foundation's decision as soon as possible upon completion of the committee review 4. In making decisions, the Foundation considers: - Applicant's accomplishments - Financial stability - Leadership - Long-term planning - Merits of the proposed funding project
