Community Endowment of Lexington Grant Program

The Community Endowment of Lexington Grant Program aims to foster philanthropic initiatives that address both immediate and long-term needs in Lexington. Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the program will provide up to $100,000 in funding for innovative projects, with individual grants capped at $15,000. Focus areas include health services, arts, environment, and community building, encouraging collaboration among local organizations to enhance the quality of life for residents.

The Community Endowment of Lexington enhances the quality of life for Lexington citizens.
CEL awards grants to nonprofits and town agencies working in the areas of health and human services, arts and culture, the environment, and community building; provides ways for donors to give back and leave a legacy; and encourages innovative and collaborative solutions to issues facing Lexington, MA.

Eligibility

Applicants must have programming that solely or predominantly serves Lexington residents.All applicants must have 501(c)(3) tax status as a registered nonprofit organization, an eligible fiscal sponsor, or be a Town of Lexington department, board, or commission. Nonprofits and town agencies may submit an application each year, though CEL is unlikely to fund the same project/request more than once. Religious-based organizations may apply, if the program they are applying for does not exclude anyone based on religion and the program's purpose is in no way to promote a particular set of religious beliefs.

Ineligibility

CEL will not consider applications from past grantees who have not completed their most recent grant or have not submitted their final report by the submission deadlineGrants will not be awarded to projects focused solely on seniors, due to other existing resources.
