CMA Artistic Projects Grant

Chamber Music America’s Artistic Projects grant supports small ensembles and presenters in New York City with budgets under $250,000. Funding ranges from $7,500 to $20,000, covering 100% of eligible expenses for projects like commissions, performances, recordings, and residencies. Each project must engage the community and enhance access to chamber music between January 1 and December 31, 2025. Chamber Music America’s Artistic Projects offers grant opportunities for small ensembles and presenters, with operating budgets under $250,000, to bring their creative ideas to completion and present them to audiences in the five boroughs of New York City.
CMA defines chamber music as music for small ensembles between two and ten musicians, with one musician per part, generally without a conductor. This encompasses contemporary and traditional jazz, classical, and world genres.
What do funds support?
Funds will support a project that falls within one of the categories:

• Commissions (new compositions)Performances
• Recordings
• Residencies
• All projects need an audience component that shows community impact.
• What does an ideal project look like?

All projects should have a community impact focus— creating more community access to chamber music and fostering a sense of respect and appreciation for chamber music.
Grants range from $7,500 to $20,000 per grant. The program will fund 100% of eligible expenses up to $20,000. No matching funds are required. All activities must take place within the boroughs of New York City between January 1, 2025 and December 31, 2025.
