The Community Foundation of Central Georgia was founded in 1993 by a group of citizens interested in encouraging philanthropy and strengthening communities. Since then, the Foundation has awarded more than $70 million in grants through its donor advised, unrestricted, designated, field-of-interest, scholarship, and organizational endowment funds. As a local center for philanthropy, the Community Foundation of Central Georgia works with individuals, families, corporations, private foundations and not-for-profit organizations to carry out their charitable objectives and address emerging community issues. It is one of more than 700 community foundations in the country and is a member of the Council on Foundations and Southeastern Council of Foundations. CFCG is recognized by the Council as complying with National Accountability Standards. Community Foundation of Central Georgia is enhancing the quality of life for the people of Central Georgia, where philanthropy thrives, neighborhoods are strong, and citizens work toward common goals. Clayton and Carol Paul Fund for Animal Welfare The primary and only objective of this Fund is to provide monetary grants to: animal humane societies, animal shelters, animal adoption agencies, low-cost spay-neuter clinics, individual wildlife rehabilitators, as well as other deserving animal welfare organizations, in order to allow these volunteer organizations to use their enormous enthusiasm, drive and willingness to reduce animal suffering and homelessness through the monetary maintenance of their organizations where little or no monetary funds existed previously.
