Chugiak-Eagle River Foundation Grants

The Chugiak-Eagle River Foundation (CERF), an affiliate of the Alaska Community Foundation, makes grants primarily to organizations based in and serving the Chugiak-Eagle River area of Alaska. Eligible applicants are Alaskan 501(c)(3) public charities (509(a)(1)/(2)/(3) Type I & II), schools, federally recognized Tribes, and city/borough governments whose primary purpose is charitable, educational, civic, patriotic, social, literary, cultural, athletic, or scientific. Funding focuses on capital projects (furnishings, buildings, equipment, books, vehicles, instruments, etc.) and occasionally special/innovative start-up projects of broad community significance. It does NOT fund individuals, general operations, endowments, indirect/overhead, debt, or (generally) churches/political activity. Applications are accepted year-round through the grant portal; the CERF Advisory Board reviews proposals quarterly, and applicants are informed within 10 days of the board meeting.
