Program Overview:
A legacy program designed to identify and celebrate educators and provide support for teachers across Los Angeles County. The program highlighted educators who nurture the academic, mental health, and social-emotional needs of students through sport, play, and movement.

Number of Awards: 46 educators recognized across 12 school districts and parochial schools

Award Details:

  • Award Amount: Up to $20,000 per educator

  • Award Uses: Play equipment, social-emotional learning resources, uniforms, field trips, coaching education, wellness spaces, and/or infrastructure projects

  • Non-monetary Support:

  • - Professionally produced video spotlighting educator's program
    - In-game recognition at USC football game (September 17, 2022)
    - Sequential video releases throughout season
    - Public acknowledgment and exposure

    Target Educators:

  • Physical education teachers

  • Elementary and special education teachers

  • Coaches

  • After-school staff

  • Must serve high-needs schools in Los Angeles County

  • Eligible schools: public schools, parochial schools, and after-school service providers affiliated with county school districts
  • Eligible Grade Levels: TK/Kindergarten through High School

    Additional CFP Foundation Support:
    Beyond individual educator grants, the CFP Foundation provided:

  • Work with Los Angeles, Pasadena, and Inglewood Unified School Districts

  • Over 10 "Extra Yard Makeover Projects" to upgrade media centers

  • Series of "A+ Teacher" appreciation lunches
