Generosity For Good

As Chattanooga’s public foundation, we are privileged to work with so many incredible and inspiring nonprofit organizations that serve our neighbors and meet essential needs in our community.

The Fund for Chattanooga

The Fund for Chattanooga is the living legacy of generous Chattanoogans who knew that our city would grow and evolve in ways they could never have imagined.

Through planned and current gifts, they helped create a permanent fund. It is through this endowed fund that we make grants to support the essential work in this community to both care for our most vulnerable and invest in the kinds of systemic changes that will result in greater opportunity for all of our neighbors.

Our approach to grantmaking is rooted in community. We are committed to addressing root causes and the systems that perpetuate inequity while also being responsive to the needs of our most vulnerable neighbors. We’re proud to work alongside so many dedicated nonprofits in that work.

Caring and Inclusive Communities Grantmaking Priorities

The Community Foundation is focused on grantmaking strategies that support our vision of a community where all our neighbors have access to the resources and opportunities they need to reach their fullest potential, regardless of where they started in life.

The Community Foundation is offering unrestricted grants of up to $30,000 to support our nonprofit partners who are working to help our neighbors navigate difficult circumstances and gain stability.

The Foundation will consider applications from organizations whose primary mission is focused on one or more of the following:

* Addressing hunger
* Supporting affordable housing and shelter
* Supporting mental wellbeing
* Creating access to affordable healthcare
* Workforce Development
