About the Foundation The Carlsbad Community Foundation is a charitable nonprofit organization that promotes and enhances the lives of people in Carlsbad and South Eddy County. The Foundation was established in 1978 and has been a primary supporter of education, arts and humanities health and human services and other key issues for four decades. At the core of our organization are the generous donors, who over the years have directed their charitable giving toward endowment funds to address present and future needs. Carlsbad Community Foundation Grant The Carlsbad Community Foundation welcomes grant proposals from non-profit organizations for projects consistent with the Foundation’s mission of improving the lives of people in Carlsbad and South Eddy County. Proposed projects are evaluated for their benefit to our local community. The Foundation’s grants are focused on the immediate area. Encouragement will be given to “challenge gifts,” meaning distributions will be authorized provided other donors make matching gifts.
