Canton Community Fund Grants

The Canton Community Fund Grants, administered by the Northern New York Community Foundation, support local non-profits to enhance community life in Canton, NY. Eligible organizations include registered 501(c)(3) entities, schools, and municipalities. Grants fund special projects, program start-ups, and capital items not covered by regular maintenance. Individuals cannot apply, and applications are accepted on a rolling basis, encouraging ongoing community improvement through education, the arts, and more.

The community can truly thrive when resources are available to individuals and groups that serve vulnerable neighbors and create initiatives to build community through education, the arts, and empowerment of all kinds.
The Canton Community Fund is a community-based organization that financially supports projects aiming to sustain and improve life in the Village and Town of Canton.
The Canton Community Fund invites applications for grants to support projects that aim to sustain and improve the life of the community. The Fund has provided assistance in a wide variety of areas, including historic preservation and awareness, community beautification, the arts, education, recreation, human services, and programs for youth and senior citizens.

Eligibility

Not-for-profit organizations that are located in and serve the residents of the Village or Town of Canton are eligible for grants from the Fund.​Organizations must be a registered non-profit 501(c)(3) organization OR have a registered non-profit organization or municipality that can receive funds on the applicant's behalf. Schools, churches, and municipalities are exempt from this requirement.Grant monies may be used to support the purposes outlined above through special projects, program start-ups, or capital items that are not part of normal maintenance. Organizations that have received support in the past may apply again, and the Fund welcomes applications on a rolling basis.

Ineligibility

Individuals are not eligible.The Fund does not award grants to pay for the normal operations and activities of an organization or for projects that benefit only an organization's own members.
