Campus to Career Initiative

Overview: The Campus to Career Initiative is a partnership program between Generation West Virginia and West Virginia colleges and universities that provides individualized career support services to upcoming and recent graduates, helping them refine job search skills and connect with in-state employment opportunities.

Geographic Scope: West Virginia colleges and universities

Target Audience:

  • Upcoming graduates from WV colleges and universities

  • Recent graduates from WV colleges and universities

  • Students seeking career coaching and job placement support
  • Program Services:

  • Career coaching (one-on-one support)

  • Cover letter development

  • Interview skills preparation

  • Connection to West Virginia employers with matching opportunities

    How to Participate

    For Colleges and Universities:
    1. Identify 5-10 upcoming or recent graduates who would benefit from additional career support
    2. Gather their names and contact information
    3. Reach out to Career Development Program Director, Melanie Taylor at melanie@generationwv.org
    4. Generation WV team will connect with identified students

    For Students:
    1. Work one-on-one with Generation WV career coaching team
    2. Refine resume with coach assistance
    3. Develop cover letters
    4. Prepare for interviews
    5. Submit resume to Generation WV
    6. Monitor job board for opportunities matching skills
    7. Discuss matched opportunities with coaching team

    Required Materials:
