NewForce Data Analytics Training Program

Overview: NewForce is an intensive data analytics training program designed to equip West Virginians with in-demand technical skills in data analysis, preparing them for careers in the growing tech industry.

Geographic Scope: West Virginia residents only

Target Audience:

  • West Virginia residents seeking career transition

  • Problem-solvers who can work through challenges

  • Curious, creative individuals who love learning

  • Team-oriented professionals

  • Those interested in data analysis and tech careers

  • Candidates from diverse backgrounds (construction workers, teachers, retail associates, etc.)

  • May or may not have prior data analysis experience
  • Program Structure:

  • Full-time virtual classroom via Zoom

  • Schedule: 9am-4pm weekdays with cohort

  • Significant self-guided learning required

  • No tests or grades

  • Portfolio-based assessment with group and individual projects

  • Capstone project requirement
  • Curriculum Topics:

  • Analytics workflow

  • Reading, cleaning, exploring, and visualizing data

  • Generating data insights using logic and formulas

  • Storing, accessing, and aggregating data from relational databases

  • Creating reports, dashboards, and visualizations
  • Technical Skills Taught:

  • Excel/spreadsheets

  • SQL

  • Python

  • Tableau

  • Power BI
