Bronx Cultural Visions Fund (BCVF)

Overview: The Bronx Cultural Visions Fund (BCVF) seeks to support the development of new ideas and the production of new work in the performing arts, including dance, music, theater, performance art, and multi-disciplinary performance work.

Program Goals: BCVF awards are intended to have a meaningful impact on an artist's career or an organization's development. BCA develops long-term relationships with grantees and remains actively engaged from letter of intent through project realization.

How to Apply
Application Process
The BCVF application process consists of two stages:
1. Stage 1: Letter of Intent (LOI)
- Submit through Submittable at: https://bronxcouncilonthearts.submittable.com/submit/331761/2026-bronx-cultural-visions-fund-bcvf-letter-of-intent-loi-application
- Can submit in written OR video format
- Submission triggers screening for eligibility
2. Stage 2: Full Proposal (if invited)
- Only applicants with strong LOIs are invited to submit full proposals
- Proposals reviewed by specially convened BCVF panel of 3-5 performing arts professionals living in NYC
- Panel determines strongest proposals and selects at least 5 awards in each category (Concept Development and Production)
Evaluation Criteria
Submissions are evaluated on the following 5 criteria (submissions meeting at least 3 are considered strong):
1. Is the project stewarding cultural heritage, innovating, sharing a new perspective, or probing/pushing boundaries?
2. Is there a compelling vision or original voice?
3. Is technical expertise and/or proficiency evident in the work samples?
4. Are the outcomes achievable?
5. Are the plans realistic and does the project represent a new direction or growth for the applicant?
