Breast Health Services Grant Program

Funder: Indiana Breast Cancer Awareness Trust (IBCAT)

Overview: IBCAT invests hundreds of thousands of dollars each year for breast cancer screening, diagnostic and support programs in communities throughout Indiana. Funds are raised through the Indiana breast cancer license plate and other donations.

Eligibility

• Organization Type: U.S. nonprofit (federally tax-exempt) 501(c)(3) organizations
• Geographic Scope: Services must occur within the State of Indiana for Indiana residents only
• Focus Areas: Screening and diagnostic services for uninsured or underinsured women and men in financial need
• Requirements:
- Must help fulfill unmet breast health and breast cancer patient support needs in the community - Organizations may submit one application per grant type per facility - Reimbursement is based on current Medicare rates - Funding limits apply (see application for details)

Grant Requirements

Funded projects require:
• Signed grant contract with IBCAT
• Quarterly Financial and Patient Summary reports
• Six-Month Progress Report
• Final Year-End Report
• Grant period: January 1 - December 31, 2026

Background

Since 2005, IBCAT has provided over $7.5 million in screening, diagnostic and support services. The organization maintains administrative costs of 12% (below the 25% gold standard), with 88 cents of every dollar raised going to patient services and mission-related expenses.
