Bodner-Stegemann Award - Round Table Session

Award Type: Round table presentation competition

Award Amount: $500 and an engraved plaque

Geographic Scope: Western Section AUA annual meeting

Overview: The Round Table Session is a unique and popular Western Section tradition that brings together humor, science and innovation. Award is given for the most interesting presentation.

Eligibility: Only Western Section members, residents and fellows are eligible.

Categories: Presenters can choose from:

  • A gadget

  • A diagnostic trick

  • A therapeutic aid, medical or surgical

  • A problem case

  • Unusual cases
  • Judging Criteria: A panel of judges assigned by the Western Section will award the prize based on the most value, the unusual nature of the case, its level of intrigue and the quality of presentation. Interactive, clever, funny, or otherwise "out of the box" presentations do well.

    Presentation Format: Presentation must be limited to 3 minutes in length.

    How to Apply

    Application Process

    1. Select one of the five categories (gadget, diagnostic trick, therapeutic aid, problem case, or unusual cases)
    2. Prepare presentation on selected topic
    3. Limit presentation to 3 minutes
    4. Submit for Round Table Session at annual meeting
    5. Judging by panel assigned by Western Section

    Requirements

    • Must be Western Section member, resident, or fellow
    • Presentation limited to 3 minutes
    • Choose from: gadget, diagnostic trick, therapeutic aid, problem case, or unusual cases
    • Judged on value, unusual nature, intrigue, and presentation quality
    • Interactive, clever, funny, or "out of the box" presentations favored
