BCF Community Grant Program

Purpose: Provides funding to programs and efforts that support the vision of a better Brookline for all who live, learn, work, and play.

Geographic Scope

• Brookline, MA
• Must directly benefit members of the Brookline community (those who live, learn, work, or play in Brookline)

Eligibility

• 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations
• Town departments or agencies
• Community groups
• Fiscal sponsorship available for new organizations or non-501(c)(3) entities
• Must be operated and organized so that it does not discriminate in hiring or service provision on the basis of race, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, national origin, or disability

• Health and wellness
• Education
• Essential needs
• The arts
• Other community support areas
• Prioritizes efforts led by and focused on BIPOC and vulnerable populations, including immigrants, women, children, older adults, LGBTQ+, disabled, members of racial/ethnic/religious/linguistic minorities, incarcerated or formerly incarcerated individuals

What BCF Funds

• General operating expenses
• Project and program funding
• Capital improvements
• Sector-building efforts
• Community and movement-building initiatives
• Capacity building

What BCF Does Not Fund

• Direct support or scholarships to individuals
• Travel costs
• Political campaigns
• Lobbying
