BCF Safety Net Grant Program

Purpose: Provides critical, urgent assistance to help neighbors in crisis cover the cost of essentials such as rent, food, utilities, child care and more.

Geographic Scope

• Brookline, MA
• Benefits residents of Brookline community

Eligibility

• 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations
• Town departments or agencies
• Community groups
• Fiscal sponsorship available for new organizations or non-501(c)(3) entities
• Must be operated and organized so that it does not discriminate in hiring or service provision on the basis of race, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, national origin, or disability

Funding Areas

• Emergency rent assistance
• Food assistance
• Utilities
• Child care
• Other essential needs for neighbors in crisis

What BCF Does Not Fund

• Direct support or scholarships to individuals
• Travel costs
• Political campaigns
• Lobbying

Application Timeline

• Rolling applications: Open until all available funds have been allocated for the current fiscal year (July 1 - June 30)
