Background

Established in 2009, the B4BC Survivorship Fund recognizes the need to support the growing breast cancer survivor community (over 2.6 million survivors in the U.S.). The fund provides grants to survivors to attend B4BC clinics and affiliate retreats rooted in mountain and ocean activities.

What the Fund Covers

Grants provide access to experiences including:
• Surfing, snowboarding, skiing
• Yoga and meditation
• Life-skills coaching
• Nutrition classes
• Complementary care (massage, guided meditation)
• Accommodations and meals at retreat locations
• Equipment and instruction
• Group activities with other survivors

Eligibility Requirements

• Female breast cancer survivor
• Currently in good state of health to participate in planned activities
• Geographic preference varies by specific retreat (e.g., Southern California residency for Ocean ReTreat)

Past Grant Amounts

As of 2012, B4BC had provided grants to 27 survivors to attend retreats and clinics.
