ASSISTments for Maryland Middle Schools Program

Overview: A grant-funded opportunity designed to deliver comprehensive support to transform middle school math classrooms through innovative, evidence-based tools and strategies.

  • What's Included:

  • Two years of hands-on support for each participating school

  • Expert classroom visits with hands-on coaching, debriefs, and model lessons

  • Monthly data reports with actionable insights

  • On-demand teacher resources (video tutorials, user guides)

  • Implementation planning and progress monitoring support at district level

  • Quarterly collaborative progress meetings

  • In-person kickoff training

  • 3-4 in-person coaching sessions per year
  • Eligibility:

  • Middle schools in Maryland

  • Schools with 1:1 technology access for students

  • Access to Learning Management System (LMS) - direct integration available for Google Classroom and Canvas; other LMSs connect via Edlink

  • Technology compatible with latest versions of Chrome or Firefox
  • Platform Features:

  • Curriculum-integrated online math tool

  • Seamless integration with Illustrative Math and other standards-aligned curricula

  • Immediate, meaningful feedback to students

  • Real-time data for teachers to pinpoint misconceptions

  • Assignment and student detail reports

  • Teachers can continue using ASSISTments platform free of charge after grant period ends

  • Schools/districts can explore paid options for professional learning, support, and school/district data dashboards
