The ASHP Foundation Compounded Sterile Preparations (CSP) Training Awards Program supports pharmacists engaged in CSP responsibilities by providing educational sessions and training opportunities. It aims to enhance competency through the ASHP Sterile Compounding Designated Person Training, which includes immersive experiences and practical sessions. Funded by the Lawrence A. Trissel Pharmacy Legacy Fund, the program offers full-meeting registration, training registration, and travel stipends to two deserving recipients, fostering professional growth and excellence in pharmacy practice.

Compounded Sterile Preparations (CSP) Training Awards Program
The ASHP Foundation Compounded Sterile Preparations (CSP) Training Awards Program helps pharmacists with CSP responsibilities participate in educational sessions, networking, and the ASHP Sterile Compounding Designated Person (DP Competency) Training at the ASHP Pharmacy Futures meeting.
What is the ASHP Sterile Compounding Designated Persons Training?
The ASHP DP Competency Training is a 1 ½ day immersive program taking place at the ASHP Pharmacy Futures meeting to train and assess the competency of individuals assigned by an organization to be responsible and accountable for sterile compounding operations. It includes live didactic and practical sessions on viable sampling plans, restoring cleanroom certification after excursions, and CSP use times from compounding to administration.
Pre-requisites or free pre-work will be provided upon registration for the ASHP DP Competency Training and must be completed prior to attending the first session.
Award Information
Funded through the Lawrence A. Trissel Pharmacy Legacy Fund, this inaugural cycle will award two (2) recipients with:

• full-meeting registration for the ASHP Pharmacy Futures Meetingregistration for the ASHP DP Competency Training$1000 travel stipend

Eligibility

Applicant EligibilityLicensed pharmacist currently practicing in a hospital or health system practice site located in the United States that provides direct patient care servicesOrganizational support (e.g., a letter from the Director of Pharmacy or another appropriate decision-maker)CSP responsibilities, that is, compounding or oversight of compounding for 50% or more of their time

IneligibleWill be starting a pharmacy residency or fellowship in current calendar yearBoard certified in compounding sterile preparations (BCSCP)Completed previous in-person CSP training program (e.g., at a previous Pharmacy Futures Meeting) Current ASHP and ASHP Foundation Board Members and employees of their institutions
