Overview

ArtSpot Call for Entries

Funder: Downtown Ventures (nonprofit arm of Downtown Partnership)

Geographic Scope: Colorado residents eligible

Focus Areas: Visual art for public display in downtown planters; sculptural and three-dimensional artwork

    Project Specifications

  • Artwork base: Must be configured to fit existing ArtSpot planter armatures (detailed specification diagram provided)
  • Size constraints: No larger than 48″ in height and 36″ wide
  • Weight preference: Should be light enough to be moved by two people without additional equipment
  • Durability requirements: Must withstand cold, temperature fluctuations, wind, ice, and snow
  • Surface finish: Resistant to graffiti and easy to clean/maintain
  • Water resistance: Impervious to regular waterings (flowers installed around base in summer)

    Eligibility

  • Must be a visual artist who creates original work
  • Must be a Colorado resident
  • Optional: program encourages applications from underrepresented demographics in public art (women, nonbinary individuals, artists who are Black, Indigenous and/or people of color, and artists with disabilities)

  • Online form submission

  • File uploads accepted: pdf, doc, docx for artist statement and resume; pdf, jpg, png for renderings/images and examples

  • Max file size: 64 MB per file

  • Max 5 files for renderings, max 5 files for examples

    • Artwork Information Fields:

  • Title

  • Dimensions (height x width x depth)

  • Weight

  • Description including media/materials and finish

  • Installation requirements

    • Artist Information:

  • Name and preferred pronouns

  • Email and phone

  • Residency confirmation (Pikes Peak region: El Paso or Teller counties)
