Arts-in-Education Grant

Annual grant program to support arts in education programming within Garrett County Public Schools and the community. The Garrett County Arts Council allocates more than $4,000 annually in grant funding for special performances and workshops by Maryland artists in local schools.

Funding Areas

• Special performances and workshops by Maryland artists in local schools
• Annual Student Arts Fair presented by the Garrett County Board of Education
• Periodic student visual art exhibits
• Sponsorship of high school literary journals
• College scholarships for high school senior students (four scholarships per high school)
  • Award categories: Excellence in band, chorus, theater, and visual arts

Arts Connection: Quarterly networking events for artists, board members, and arts supporters with rotating locations and themes throughout Garrett County
