William (Bill) Hentosh Artist Scholarship

Overview: An annual scholarship established by GCAC Board Member and local photographer William "Bill" Hentosh to benefit Garrett County high school students pursuing arts education.

    Award Details

  • Amount: $250 each to graduating seniors from Northern and Southern High School
  • Focus: Students intending to pursue a major in an arts discipline
  • Eligible Arts Disciplines: Visual art, music, dance, theatre, literary arts, or culinary arts

    Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be a graduating senior from Northern Garrett High School or Southern Garrett High School
  • Must be accepted at a two-year or four-year institution of higher education or an established art institute
  • Must intend to pursue a major in an arts discipline
  • Minimum overall grade point average of 3.0

    Required Application Materials

  • Completed application form
  • Arts teacher's letter of recommendation
  • Written essay by the student with topic: "If I am awarded this scholarship I plan to..."
