Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo The Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo (ACGK) is a nonprofit organization that seeks to improve the cultural life in greater Kalamazoo. Founded in 1966, ACGKs mission is to support, promote and fund the arts in and around Kalamazoo County. Our members include arts organizations, individual artists and business partners, while contributions and support come from a wide area and include individual donors, as well as foundation and corporate grants. We accomplish our mission through arts management services, grant programs, education, advocacy, public programs and event promotion. The Arts Fund of Kalamazoo County The Arts Fund of Kalamazoo County, was established in 1986 through a Kalamazoo Community Foundation Initiative Grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. This grant is intended to support artists and artistic projects that remove barriers, provide access, and engage culturally diverse and historically excluded communities. Individual Artists' Projects To support individual artists' projects, with special emphasis placed on work that engages culturally diverse and historically excluded communities. Maximum grant amount is $2,500. The request must be 50% or less of the total budget.

Individual artists must be at least 18 years of age by the deadline date and reside in Kalamazoo CountyExceptions may be made for artist residence and organizational address if the project occurs solely within and is specifically designed to enrich the cultural experience of the citizens of Kalamazoo CountyApplicants may only receive funding for one grant request in 12 months.Applicants with unmet obligations on prior grants, i.e., late/incomplete reports, may not applyApplicants may not receive funding for the same project through KADI and Arts Fund. However, applicants may apply for different projects through KADI and Arts Fund in the same year.

Ineligibility

The Arts Fund of Kalamazoo County grant program does not fund the following:Activities for Academic Credit Toward a Degree Capital Expenses Exceeding $500.00*Consultant Fees Creation of an EndowmentExisting Debt FundraisersPublication costs, except as related to an original manuscript Retroactive/Reimbursement FundingOperational expenses that do not directly impact a project
