Artists Respond Grant (CT)

The Artists Respond Grant (CT) supports Connecticut artists in executing community-based projects, from large events to intimate gatherings. This grant allows artists to utilize the transformative power of art to engage and uplift local communities. With available funding of $3,000, artists can cover essential fees and expenses related to their projects. Eligible applicants must be 18 years or older and reside full-time in Connecticut, ensuring that the projects reflect community needs and current social issues.

The Artists Respond grant program awards funds to Connecticut artists for community-based projects that range from large audience events to small group activities. Artist-led projects use the arts to inspire, empower, educate, and transform Connecticut communities.
The projects must occur in Connecticut and be led by the artist/applicant. Artists may partner with nonprofits and business entities, but the project must be the work of the artists, not the nonprofit or business. Projects should thoughtfully engage the community. Be sure to consider community needs, social issues and current events.
Funding
Connecticut artists may apply for a grant of $3,000 to support artist fees and project-related expenses.

Eligibility

Please apply for this grant if you are an artist who is:18 years of age or older at the time of the application deadline
A full-time resident of Connecticut at the time of the application deadline and continue to be a full-time resident when the award is granted.
Grantees must be able to complete a W9 and supply proof of CT residency.

Ineligibility

You also aren’t eligible if you:Have an overdue final report for any grant from the Office of the Arts
Submit an incomplete or late application
Are an organization/business (non-profit or for-profit), municipal office, school, library, etc.
