Artist Fellowship Grant - Emerging Recognition Grants

The Artist Fellowship Grant supports Connecticut artists by providing $1,000 in funding for emerging artists to create new works and further their careers. Eligible applicants must be 18 or older, residing in Connecticut, and preparing a body of work to be presented professionally. This grant fosters artistic growth and recognizes the contributions of local talent, making a significant impact on the state's cultural landscape.

The Artist Fellowship Program provides recognition and funding support for Connecticut artists to pursue new work and advance their artistic careers.

Eligibility

Connecticut artists from any discipline are eligible. Please note that funds are usually given to people who have a body of recent work that can be presented professionally. We encourage you to apply for this grant if you are an artist working in any artistic discipline and the primary creator of original works of art who is:18 years old or older at the time of application.
A full-time resident of Connecticut at the time of application and still a Connecticut resident when the award is granted. We verify residency when awarding grants.
Able to complete a W9 as an individual with your Social Security Number.Emerging Recognition recipients ($1,000 awardees) can apply and may be considered for Fellowship and Excellence recognition.

Ineligibility

Incomplete submissions or submissions received after the deadline.
Artists who have overdue final reports from any COA grant program.
High school students and college/university students enrolled full-time at a degree-granting institution.
Connecticut Office of the Arts staff members and people in their immediate family.
Nonresident of Connecticut.
Recent Artist Fellowship recipients. See below for an outline of the wait period for recent grantees.The Emerging Recognition award cannot be awarded to a recipient who received this award in the past.
