Artist-in-Residence Program

Overview: McMinnville Education Foundation provides funding to pay a guest artist's salary and supplies that students are able to keep. The program brings professional artists into classrooms to provide hands-on art instruction and enrichment experiences.

  • 4th Grade Focus: Art of totem poles, symbolism, color mixing, growth mindset

  • 5th Grade Focus: Study of Frida Kahlo, self-portrait creation, growth mindset
  • Learning Outcomes: Students learn about symbolism, artistic techniques (color mixing, composition), art history, and resilience through engagement with professional artists.
