Overview
The Arthur Miller Theater Education Program (Fellows Program) is a comprehensive support initiative for certified public school theater teachers to create sustainable in-school theater programs. The program was launched in partnership with the NYC DOE in 2015.- Mentorship from experienced theater professionals
- Cultural partner residencies with Broadway theaters and other high-quality theater companies
- Professional development opportunities
- Classroom resources and materials
- Broadway and theater tickets for Fellows and their students to attend performances
Program Components
- Launched in 2015 with 15 teachers
- Expanded to 40+ teachers in 40+ schools across all 5 NYC boroughs
- Impacts over 15,000 students annually
Program Growth
- Certified theater teachers in NYC public schools
- Scholars who have earned their theater certification through the Arthur Miller Foundation Scholars Program are eligible upon beginning to teach
