Overview

Ann Mellow Fund for Professional Development

Purpose: Professional development grant named in honor of Ann Mellow (2020 Ruth Jenkins Award recipient). Supports professional development programs and activities for Episcopal school staff and leaders.

Geographic Scope: United States (NAES member schools)

Focus Areas: Professional development programs and activities

Eligibility:

  • Member schools of NAES

  • Schools must be NAES members for both the current year of application and the year in which grant is disbursed

  • Priority given to schools that have not received a grant in recent years, lack sufficient budgets for the project, and are long-standing NAES members

  • Grants may also be used to attend NAES events
  • Key Requirements:

  • Head of School permission required

  • Completed W-9 form submission

  • Project budget documentation (provisional budget required)

  • Grant report required by May 1 of the same school year using NAES Grant Report Form

  • Report should be 500-800 words, focus on impact, include student/faculty voices and photos/videos when possible

    2. Project Details Section
    - Select grant: "The Ann Mellow Fund for Professional Development"
    - Brief project identification (maximum 100 characters)
    - Amount requested (suggested range: $500–$1,500, but outside amounts considered)
    - Description of professional development program or activity
    - Head of School consent confirmation

    3. Budget Documentation
    - Choose submission method: upload document OR add line items to form
    - If uploading: PDF preferred (also accepts doc, docx, xls, xlsx, csv; max 50 MB)
    - If adding line items: list item and anticipated cost for each
    - Note: Applications missing a budget will not be considered

    4. W-9 Form
    - Upload W-9 as PDF (max 50 MB)
    - Filename format: "School Name W-9"
    - Blank fillable PDF available on website
    - May also email completed form to info@episcopalschools.org

    5. Grant Conditions Agreement
    - Check box confirming all parties have read and agreed to grant conditions document
    - This includes head of school acknowledgment

    6. Reporting (Post-Award)
    - Submit grant report by May 1 of same school year
    - Use NAES Grant Report Form
    - Include: impact focus, narrative elements (quotes, anecdotes, student voices), achievements, connection to Episcopal identity, photos or video links (optional)
    - 500-800 words recommended
