Overview
America Walks' Community Change Grants are an annual (since 2015) national micro-grant program supporting grassroots advocates, community organizers, nonprofit organizations, and agencies running innovative, inclusive projects that create safe, accessible, walkable communities and increase physical activity/active transportation. Funded projects emphasize antiracism, inclusive health and design, and authentic community engagement. Historically funded via partners such as the CDC's Active People, Healthy Nation initiative; one recent cycle included ten additional $1,500 grants funded by General Motors in towns/cities with GM facilities. Program is competitive (a recent cycle drew nearly 600 applications).
