Alston-Beech Foundation Grant

Overview: The Alston-Beech Foundation awards grants to qualified nonprofit organizations with specific, identifiable needs showing an interest in community improvement.

Geographic Scope: North Central Philadelphia area within the boundaries of:

North: Lehigh Avenue

South: Spring Garden

East: Broad Street

West: 33rd Street

Eligibility Requirements

Eligible Organizations:

Must be incorporated and classified as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code

Must be classified as public charities under Section 509(a) of the Internal Revenue Code

Must be in business for a minimum of two years before applying

Must be current with all federal and local taxes including employee withholding tax payments

Must carry required insurance coverage as needed

Must provide a current audited financial statement

Ineligible Applicants:

For-profit organizations

Individuals

Organizations using a conduit organization to apply

Churches and religious organizations (exception: church community development corporations with 501(c)(3) status may apply for non-sectarian community benefit activities)

Application Restrictions

Organizations may only apply for funding once in a twelve-month calendar period
