Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Scholarship Grant

The Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Scholarship, established by the Nu Delta Omega Chapter in 2025, awards a $1,000 scholarship to female high school seniors from Beaufort and Jasper County public schools. Eligible candidates must demonstrate academic excellence with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and possess leadership qualities. Recipients are required to enroll full-time in a post-secondary institution and attend the AKA Scholarship Lunch and Learn workshop on April 4, 2026.

Community Foundation of the Lowcountry
In 1994, a group of visionary Lowcountry community leaders recognized the need to create a community foundation. Through the sale of the nonprofit Hilton Head Hospital, Hilton Head Island Foundation, Inc. was born, with a mission to provide philanthropic leadership to a growing community. In 2001, our service area expanded to include northern Beaufort County, Colleton, Hampton and Jasper Counties.
With more than $125 million invested in the Lowcountry area since 1994, Community Foundation of the Lowcountry is the largest source of unrestricted philanthropic resources dedicated to Beaufort, Colleton, Hampton and Jasper Counties. We provide donors and nonprofits the steadfast philanthropic leadership to transform, empower and enhance the communities we serve.

Purpose: Community Foundation of the Lowcountry is dedicated to helping donors, nonprofit organizations and other community members make a difference in the lives of Lowcountry citizens. The Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Scholarship fund was created by the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Nu Delta Omega Chapter in 2025. The mission of this scholarship fund is to provide a $1,000.00 scholarship to graduating senior females in the Beaufort and Jasper County public high schools.

Eligibility

Applicant must be a female high school senior graduating from a public high school in Beaufort or Jasper County.Applicants must demonstrate outstanding academic merit and leadership qualities.Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.Applicants must provide proof of enrollment from a post-secondary institution verifying full-time status before the distribution of funds.Applicants must commit to attending the AKA Scholarship Lunch and Learn workshop on April 4, 2026.
