Alexander and Gladys Shepherd Scholarships Trust Applications are welcomed from persons in the Taranaki Province who wish to become farmers or work in the rural sector on the land and are under the age of 21 years at the commencement of their studies. Scholarships are for the purpose of obtaining further education or training which would be useful to them in farming pursuits or the attainment of a university degree in agriculture.

This round is for students up to the age of 21 already undertaking degrees or courses (i.e. are part way through their studies already).Students undertaking rural financial courses will be considered, providing they are also undertaking agriculture or horticultural studies.

Ineligibility

These scholarships are not open to students undertaking veterinary science.
