2025-2026 Kickstart Kids Grant Program

The 2025-2026 Kickstart Kids Grant Program, provided by the Texas Education Agency, aims to support martial arts initiatives that foster character and life skills in middle and high school students. The purpose of this grant program is to provide a grant to Kickstart Kids for martial arts programs and activities that build character and life skills for middle and high school aged students.
Direct Administrative Costs
TEA limits the amount of direct administrative costs for this grant program to no more than 15% of the total grant award.
Indirect Costs
For this grant program, the grantee may claim a maximum for allowable indirect costs equal to its current approved unrestricted indirect cost rate.
Program Guidelines
In addition to the statutory requirements, TEA has established the following program requirements. The applicant must comply with each of these requirements in the application to be considered for funding:
The applicant will ensure all procurements follow Texas Education Code (TEC) §44.031 and Financial Accountability System Resource Guide (FASRG).The applicant will ensure proper documentation of all expenditures under the grant.The applicant will provide TEA with quarterly expenditure reports and updates on the use of funds and grant activities completed.The grantee will provide the Program Contact additional proposed program reporting and performance measures plan no later than 30 calendar days after issuance of the Notice of Grant Award (NOGA).The grant program will be funded by reimbursement once the NOGA has been issued and the grantee submits payment requests through the Expenditure Reporting (ER) system
